Men And Yeast Infections

By Jason M.

Candidiasis, or yeast infection is a problem associated with women, but men are not immune to it. Candidiasis is basically the overgrowth of fungus candida. The fungus is known to multiply rapidly in a habitat that has the optimal conditions - moist, warm and dark.

Any part of the human body that has these conditions will house the fungus. Thus, males and females are both susceptible to yeast infection.

Sex, diet, antibiotics and sanitary are the few among many other known factors that cause yeast infection in men. Lamentably, many males will get through their daily routine unaware that they have a yeast infection. One reason is that the male and female body structures are built differently.

Men will only be aware of a yeast infection if it creates other complications in their health, but for females, a simple vaginal infection and discharge will begin sending alert signs. The reason is that the outside temperature of the skin around the penis is 77 degrees, thus keeps the yeast infection dormant for quite sometime.

The social life of men is also known as a contributory factor to yeast infections. Men who are excessive beer drinkers tend to have skin yeast especially around their reproductice organ. Yeast is basically known to puff bread while cooking, is it not also a possibility that it can also swell a prostrate gland? This is the reason why males with active sex life are more likely afflicted with prostrate ailments like prostate cancer than young boys. Yeast will basically travel up to the urethral canal, to the prostrate gland, and excess production level will expand the gland.

Even though medical discipline is introducing male yeast infection cures in the market, initially, all yeast infection treatments were tailor made for female group. The most practical measure thus to be taken is to practice prevention. Improving eating habits, practicing safe sex, changing lifestyle and upholding utmost hygiene are the key to averting yeast infections in male.
