10 Steps You Can Take To Slow Down Aging

You are very unlikely to find one product that will slow down aging, ever. The reason is that many different systems within the body are involved in the aging process. What you can find though are ways to slow down aging and to improve your quality of life. Below I list ten proven things you can start doing that will slow down the aging process.

1. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, and whole grain foods. Iron, fiber, calcium, and vitamins all play an important role in making your body function well. Drink lots of fluids to flush waste out of the body. If you eat right, it will be easier to maintain a healthy weight.

2. Exercise. How often? Every day. Exercise not only makes you stronger and helps you lose weight, it improves digestion, strengthens bones, and gives you a better emotional outlook on life.

3. Medical attention. Go to your doctor on scheduled visits. Go for health checkups. Make sure you are checked regularly for cancer and heart disease.

4. Stay out of the sun. The sun causes chronic inflammation of the skin which leads to premature aging of the skin. Use lots of sunscreen.

5. Do not smoke. You need to quit smoking if you do. Smoking is very damaging to the body. This is why people who smoke generally tend to look older. Smoking also causes cancer and heart disease.

6. Keep your stress level low. Stress is all about life. Everyone has stress. What you can do differently though is to develop better coping mechanisms for stress. The situation is not the problem, it is your emotional reaction to the problem that causes the negative health effects.

7. Improve your sense of well-being. Use hobbies and laughter when possible. Try and keep yourself learning new things. Stay curious and you will stay younger for longer.

8. Relationships. Keep strong connections with family and friends.

9. Don't let fears and worries dominate your life. A worried mind is not at peace and robs you of zest and energy which you need to maintain youthfulness.

10. Consume lots of antioxidants. The body starts producing less antioxidants when you age. Consuming antioxidants makes up for the short fall. Green tea is a great source of antioxidants. Fruits and vegetables also have antioxidants as well as fish.

Doing these ten things will help you live a healthier, longer life. When you see outrageous claims of an anti-aging product or pill, check with your doctor as there are lots of scams out there.
