How Do You Lower Your Triglycerides Naturally?

Everyone knows that it's bad for you to eat too much fat. But that's not totally true. Not all fat is bad for you. Some is good. Some is bad. Triglycerides are a fat, found in your blood, and are one of the bad ones.

What is the problem with too much triglycerides in the blood? They can lead to blood clots, which isnt a good thing, and they can also cause your HDL (good cholesterol) to lower. Both of those are bad. Basically its linked to coronary artery disease.

So lets now look at how to lower triglycerides. If yours are too high you need to know this.

1. Eat a diet to lower triglycerides. Eat less foods high in fat, especially saturated fat, and avoid sugary foods. Eat more fresh fruit and vegetables and cook with Canola oil or Olive oil.

2. Exercise more, because exercise helps to lower triglycerides as well as making you more healthy generally.

3. Reduce your alcohol intake.

4. Try to lose some weight.

5. Increase your intake of Omega 3 polyunsaturated fats. For example instead of eating steak tonight, eat an oily fish full of good Omega 3 fats. The role of Omega 3 fish oils in lowering triglycerides.

It is now well established that increasing your intake of Omega 3 fats, found primarily in fish oils, is an important part of a good diet to lower triglycerides.

The American Heart Association says on it's website that we need to increase our intake of fish for this reason. Or take fish oil supplements. That's because fish is a very good source of Omega 3, especially oily fish. And fish oil supplements are a good way to take some fish oil every day.

Omega 3 fats are good for your heart and so many other things.

There's a problem in eating too much fish though, the FDA warns us about eating a lot of fish because fish is generally contaminated.

But the best Omega 3 capsules aren't contaminated, and are the ideal way to take Omega 3 fats daily. Note that this isn't true for all Omega 3 supplements.

So there's a way for you to lower your triglycerides naturally. Some dietary and lifestyle changes and daily fish oil supplements and you're on your way.
