I know that for most of us, staring at a computer monitor all day is part of our job. Unless we want to change jobs and most of us do not, then we need a way to protect our eyes from the computer glare. The computer is a vision robber. For those people who have to sit in front of one every day at their jobs, it can really damage the eyes. There is a way to protect your vision from the glare of the computer screen. Just keep reading to find out how.

Look at your computer monitor straight on with the eyes cast slightly downward. Keep the distance about 1? to 2 feet away from your face for good eye protection.

Most of us lay our papers on the desk and our eyes go back and forth from the paper to the computer. Ideally, the papers should be even with the screen. There are document holders that either attach to the side of your monitor or are free standing that you can purchase for a modest price.

There are many things you can do to alleviate the computer eye strain and the damage your eyes can sustain if you use a computer for many hours. The most important thing is to take frequent breaks. Get up and do something else for a few minutes every hour or so. The strain on your eyes will be lessened because they will be focused on something else. Also, look away every few minutes to give your eyes a break.

Are you so focused on the work at your computer that you're oblivious to what's going on around you? That's not healthy for you eyes. Give your eyes a break and look up and check things out now and then. Soothe your tired eyes by closing them for a few minutes periodically. So refresh your tired overworked eyes by looking up and focusing on something else, or close your eyes for a few minutes.
