How to Cure Hemorrhoids in Children

By Heather-Jane Hunter

Children are less likely to get hemorrhoids than adults but thats not to say that hemorrhoids are unheard of in children. Hemorrhoids can, and do affect children. As in adults, hemorrhoids in children can occur internally or externally and a thought to be caused by an increase in blood pressure in the veins in and around the anal passage. Too high blood pressure often results in the formation of a hemorrhoid. Bowel movement (particularly with hard stools) can irritate and usually aggravate hemorrhoids to the extent where they can become very painful.

Symptoms of hemorrhoids that your child may experience include pain during bowel movement, bright red blood in and on the stools, a mound of flesh protruding from the anal canal, or if they experience an itchy and irritating anus.

For children, constipation is the main cause of hemorrhoids. As this is a fairly common illness amongst children, and as it frequently leads to hemorrhoids, care must be taken to avoid constipation. Common causes of constipation include a poor diet (lack of fiber), dehydration, and not getting enough exercise. Given that most children are quiet active, it is not likely that the lack of exercise will cause constipation in children.

Children dont have the same options for hemorrhoid treatment as adults. Surgery for example is almost always out of the question " its just too harsh on children and can have long last physical and emotional effects. A lot of the time hemorrhoids in children can be treated by simply changing their diets. Make sure they have a lot of fruit and vegetables in their diets and most importantly a lot of fiber. Cereals are a great source of fiber, as are beans and lentils. Try working these into the childs diet to see effect it has.

Increase the childs liquid intakes. Fruit juice is good as the children will enjoy it and it will also help provide a good amount of vitamins which can help strengthen vein walls " this preventing the chance of hemorrhoids occurring.

Always ensure that the hemorrhoid is kept clean at all times. Take special care when cleaning the area (use a soft cloth or wet toilet paper) and try bathing the child several times a day. This will be soothing and help reduce the pain caused by the hemorrhoids.

If your child hasnt noticed an improvement in their condition after 4-5 days then you should consider consulting a physician or trying a natural solution to cure the hemorrhoids (one example is H Miracle). Creams and ointments are a fairly commonly prescribed medication to hemorrhoids for children but most creams and lotions fight the symptoms of hemorrhoids " not the causes of hemorrhoids. In some cases when using creams and lotions, the hemorrhoids may disappear only to reappear a few months later.

H-Miracle is a proven solution which has cured tens of thousands of hemorrhoid sufferers. It sells for around $40 " much cheaper than the average consultation with a doctor. H-Miracle provides a range of natural solutions that can be carried out from your own home. This may be a more comfortable solution for you child.
